Is consistency really key?
Well, let’s see…
“We are what we repeatedly do, therefore, excellence is not an act but a habit. Excellence is an art won by training and habituation”
“Such as are your habitual thoughts, such also will be the character of your mind”
“Every habit capability is confirmed and grows in its corresponding actions… if you want to do something, make a habit of it”
Warren Buffet or Samuel Johnson (Internet isn’t clear on this one):
“Chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken”
“I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed”
Michael Jordan (again, he deserves it):
“I’ve always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come”
Lewis Howes (no idea who he is, but I like this one):
“I have learned that champions aren’t just born; champions can be made when they embrace and commit to life-changing habits”
William Makepeace Thackeray (no clue again, but a good one):
“Successful people aren’t born that way. They become successful by establishing the habit of doing things unsuccessful people don’t like to do”
Dwayne Johnson (The Rock):
“Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come”
Alright, I’ll stop with the quotes. If you run a quick google search on consistency quotes you’ll find hundreds.
If you recall “TheWakko says #5: What do you actually control?”, I made clear the difference between means and ends, also where you should dedicate your attention and efforts. In a nutshell (if you haven’t read it), focus on the means and the ends will come.
Put aside all the quotes, famous people and historical figures I mentioned, here’s the angle/perception that I want you to have, I’ll make a quote myself so you can reference me:
“Consistency is key because you have control of your habits. Consistency is key because it is a mean, which will influence your ends”
Now, all you need to do is make sure that your habits are aligned with the results you want.
Are you happy with your current results? Great, your habits will sustain them.
Are you not happy with your current results? Take a look at your habits, change them.
Just one more quote so you can fully understand my line of reasoning, this time credited/acclaimed to Albert Einstein:
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”
Our nerdy CEO can actually explain this whole perspective based on Newton’s first law of motion.
The reason for so many references and different perspectives on the same topic is exactly to show you that this argument holds true no matter what.
In our course we teach how you can develop habits of a high stakes player, how you can break through current beliefs that are holding you back, how you can become a new and improved version of yourself.
Is consistency really key?
Yes… believe in me…
